 LIBRARY ASSISTANT/CIRCULATION

Matheson Memorial Library, Elkhorn, WI

(Part time position 18 hours/week + additional substitute hours as needed). Starting salary range is: $15.89-16.54/hour.

Would you like to work at a busy, thriving library where every day is an adventure? Matheson Memorial Library has TWO part-time positions open in our Circulation department! We are seeking public service-oriented individuals who enjoy helping their community and its residents of all ages. Duties will include:  Checking-out and checking-in materials, issuing library cards, enforcing policies, using a cash register and making change, and shelving materials. Candidate will be expected to assist with other library duties as assigned, but we can work with you to find tasks that fit your interests. Candidate must have proficient computer skills, be able to search our library catalog and the internet, and be willing to learn new skills. Candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications:  High school diploma or equivalent.  Prior library experience preferred, but not required.

Work schedule is as follows:

Position 1 (18 hours per week)                          Position 2 (18 hours per week)

Monday: 8:00am to 1:00pm                                        Monday: 10:00am to 5:00pm

Tuesday: 10:00am to 6:00pm                                      Thursdays: 3:00pm to 8:00pm

Wednesday: 8:00am to 1:00pm                                   Fridays: 10:00am to 4:00pm

And every third Saturday                                               And every third Saturday

You must also be willing and available to work additional hours, to cover the vacation and time off requests of other staff.
